Quartz
Quartz is composed of silicon dioxide (SiOโ) and is one of the most abundant minerals on Earth. It forms as mineral-rich fluids slowly cool, allowing crystals to grow over thousands to millions of years.
Black Obsidian
Unlike quartz, black obsidian is not a true mineral. It is a naturally occurring volcanic glass created when silica-rich lava cools so rapidly that crystals don't have time to form. This rapid cooling gives obsidian its smooth, glossy appearance.
Rose Quartz
Rose quartz is the pink variety of quartz. Scientists believe its delicate color is caused by microscopic fibrous mineral inclusions that become trapped as the crystal forms deep within the Earth.
