🌋 The Volcanic Abyss

A sphere born from fire and paired with a display worthy of the deep.

This one-of-a-kind bundle features a genuine 60 mm Golden Sheen Obsidian sphere displayed on a dramatic octopus skull stand that I personally selected to complement its volcanic origin. They weigh 705.86 grams/1.55 pounds combined. Together they create a striking collector's piece that blends natural science with dark, mystical aesthetics.

Fairy Lab Identification

Specimen: Golden Sheen Obsidian

Classification: Natural volcanic glass

Formation: Forms when silica-rich lava cools so rapidly that crystals have little time to develop, creating glass instead of a crystalline rock.

The Fairy Scientist Breakdown

The Mineral

Golden Sheen Obsidian is a natural variety of obsidian formed through volcanic activity. Unlike crystalline minerals, obsidian is volcanic glass, giving it an exceptionally smooth, glossy surface.

How It Formed

During cooling, countless microscopic gas bubbles and tiny mineral inclusions became aligned within the flowing lava. When light strikes the sphere at the proper angle, these layers produce the brilliant golden "schiller" effect unique to Golden Sheen Obsidian.

Why This Shape?

A sphere allows light to move evenly across the surface, revealing shifting bands of golden flash from every direction. The lapidary work also highlights the beautiful concentric "eye" patterns found on opposite sides of this specimen.

The Curated Display

Rather than pairing this sphere with a standard stand, I chose an intricately sculpted octopus skull display. The dark volcanic glass and bone-colored stand create a dramatic contrast that makes this piece a true centerpiece for anyone on a path wanting protection, strength, and knowledge of self. This display is perfect for any crystal, gothic, or curiosity collection.

Energy & Intention

Many people associate Golden Sheen Obsidian with protection, self-reflection, and uncovering hidden truths.
